Hello,
I seems to have a problem with the Add-in Beta for Excel 2003.
When I launch excel 2003, I receive the message below.
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Any clues as to problem?
Running WIN XP Pro, with admin rights.
It looks like you have a broken installation.
Do you seed any errors reported in Windows Event viewer?
Have you tried uninstall and reinstall the add-in?
No, I'll try your suggestion and report back.
thanks
Re-installed but no fix.
From event viewer:
Product: Microsoft adCenter Add-in for Excel (Beta) -- Installation completed successfully.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
I would ignore the error if I were you. I get the same error with my full installation of Excel.
BTW. I have Admin privileges and use XP.
It has never interfered with my usage of Excel. Just ignore the error message and close/cancel (whatever the case might be) and you can use Excel with no worries at all. Have written to Microsoft but no joy to date.
Wayne,
Any insight into the problem? Is their another support channel for this beta?
can you post your email so that we can contact you for details?
Thanks,Dylan
sent you a private message with my contact email.
any help? Sent pm but no response to date.
Did you ever get a response to this? I am having the exact same issue. I get the error message now when 2003 boots up and there is no sign of the of the add in. It's like the installation never happened, even though it indicated it was successful.
no response so far, sent numerous pm messages. Imagine asking to post my email in a public forum, they ever heard of spam!
Hi Adcenteruser,
Thank you for using the forum. I'm trying to track down some info from the product team on this issue. I will post back soon as I get an update from them.
Cheers
Chris
Hi Chris,
Thank you for the reply.
Still working on it. Dylan, who was providing good advice for the forum users, is no longer working on this beta. I'm tracking down the best source.
Thanks.
I have the same problem: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." using Excel 2003, Windows XP Media Edition, with admin rights.
Any ideas as to a solution?
