    Unable to Download Text Ads and Keywords

    Hi,

         My adcenter account has about 30K keywords. ACE can successfully download my campaigns and my adgroups (~8,000), but not any of my text ads or keywords. It seems to timeout; I get a message stating that an error has occurred and to try again. I tried to download and replace my account in ACE several times throughout the day and I can never do it successfully.

    Me too...

    I have the beta installed on two machines and on one, it works perfectly. The other has this issue. All the data downloads except the ad and keywords and seems to be hung downloading. I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times, but it hasn't helped.

    I have tried to locate the data file since it seems to be corrupted, but so far have been unable to find where it stored.

    As a side issue, when you cancel the download, the application is locked up. All features are grayed out and I am unable to close the window. I have to kill it through the task manager to get out.

    Maybe this will help troubleshoot the problem.

    I went to my second machine and made an archive copy of the data. Then I imported the archive into the broken install and voila. It all works now.

    Update: I was able to "download changes" successfully (no errors), however when I changed a Keyword bid and tried to "upload changes" it hung.

    I have not receivied any meaningful updates to the download issue as of yet. I am still waiting for the information and I will update as soon as I find out more information

    I too have had this problem. My account manager and media specialist have been notified and when they responded they said it worked on their end it but it took nearly 50 minutes. I explained to him that it was as if it timed out. I am waiting to hear back but have about 500k keywords in 131 campaigns from my 5 accounts. The only way I have been able to get around this downloading problem is to only load 1 account which is better than the website interface but not what I want.

    Still works fine at the office, but won't retrieve Ads ot Keywords at home. I can import and it looks like it's going to work, but it fails.

    I have deleted the datafiles and program files several times to try and create a working senerio with or without an import, but I am still stuck.

     I am experiencing the same issue, with only one account but over 300k keywords. It gets stuck when trying to download the keywords.

    It has been more then a week since I posted this major issue and still there is no known fix. It seems like anyone with a large number of keywords cannot use ACE, which defeats the purpose of having ACE.

     My ACE also gets stuck on dloading kws and text ads.  Bummer because I was really looking forward to getting started with the offline editor.  ideally, when working, it will make me about 10x more productive, so please get this bug fixed asap!

     I was finally able to get it to download my account, for some reason when I tried again later in the afternoon it worked. However as another poster stated, it did take a very long time.

    I have had the application be successful on two computers. A co-workers and my personal one. This is completely cutting out the idea that my connection is bad. What I had figured out is that YOU NEED TO REINSTALL. HOWEVER!!! I CANT completely delte the application from my computer. I can uninstall it but I can not find the additional files that need to be deleted. The problem is that when I reinstall it somehow remembers my account information. I need to find the additional files stored on my computer to 100% Completely UNINSTALL the program so I can reinstall using the most recent version and get this to finally work.

     

    If anyone know how to find or what the files are called. PLEASE let me know.

    As you have discovered to remove the app delete the folder:
    C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\Local Settings\Apps\2.0

    To remove the data files delete:
    C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\MAF\Localstore\

    These aer hidden folders, so you may need to enable the display of hidden files so you can locate these 

    Caveat: I am not with Microsoft and this is what I have figured out how to do own my own...

     You have no idea how much of a help that is.
