  • adCenter August upgrade: keyword research updates Tuesday, August 19, 2008 by: Carolyn Miller - MSFT 0 Comments

This our second post about the recent adCenter upgrade (read the first). After our weekend upgrade you'll see many changes in the Research tab of adCenter. These changes were designed to make it easier for you to build your keyword lists and enhance your campaigns.

First of all, after you search for keywords on the Research tab, you now have the option of seeing the click-through rate (CTR) and average cost-per-click (CPC) for your list of suggested keywords.

Then, you can export your suggested keyword list to a Microsoft Office Excel comma-separated values (CSV) file.

To further analyze the keyword data, you can add any or all of the suggested keywords to your keyword collection. Our improved graphs show audience distribution by age range, gender, and geographical location, plus historical trends such as searches by month.

You can also view the data in table format, which you can export to Excel.

You can now add your keyword collection to an ad group more easily:

    1. Under Select an ad group, select the account, campaign, and ad group that you want to add your keyword collection to, and then click Add to ad group.

For more keyword research features, try out the adCenter Add-inBeta for Excel 2007. Read related blog posts or download it.

For more information, please see What's New with adCenter on advertising.microsoft.com and be sure to let us know what you think of these changes over in the adCenter Forum.

And, check out our blog post about credit card updates that also happened with this upgrade.
