Further to Mel’s mention last month we, the Creative Services Team, have been kindly asked to go into a little more detail about the adCenter Retail Day. So here goes...
Following on from the successful adCenter Travel Digital Day in October, the UK Microsoft Advertising team decamped for the afternoon to the chic Charlotte Street Hotel in central London for the second instalment of vertical best practices, focusing this time on Retail.
The aim of the day was to provide actionable insights into how the retail industry can work more effectively online, presenting best practice and case studies of some fantastic campaigns on Microsoft Live Search, and how Microsoft adCenter can help customers achieve outstanding results and get better ROI, specifically around the holiday season.
And what a glorious afternoon of thought provoking retail insights and best practices it turned out to be! The event was vastly popular and was attended by around 100 delegates representing a number of the largest UK digital agencies as well as a mixture of high street names and reputable online brands.
Guest speakers included Andrew McLaren, Director of Business Development at IMRG who talked about the ‘Future of Retail Online and in Search’. Then Luke Kingsnorth, Development Manager for Online Marketing at John Lewis, gave a powerfully candid presentation about ‘Changing Business Models’ and how the client, agency & media owner relationship can really work to great effect.
Other stand-out moments of the day included the thought-leading presentation ‘The "New" Media Landscape’ by Chris Dobson, Microsoft VP for UK Online Services, and the live demo by UK adCenter team member Craig Brown of the new adCenter Excel Add-in insights tool.
